Amecon 2010 registrations open this Monday!

Registrations for the biggest UK anime convention of 2010 - Amecon - open this Monday (15th February).

Held at Keele University near Newcastle-under-Lyme, the convention will run from 13th - 15th August with a capacity of 1000+. Onsite accommodation will be available to book upon registering.

For those who have not been to Amecon before, I thoroughly recommend attending. It is a weekend of pure anime joy from panels, guests, screenings, dealers and some of the best parties you will ever go to! Cosplay is also huge at Amecon, with the vast majority of attendees wearing it and then strutting their stuff at the always popular masquerade. The final night also plays host to a formal Cosplay Ball, which is a great way to round off the weekend.

For those of you who have been before, you know it'll be awesome!

A stranger in cosplay land

Yes it's another news post from me, don't worry I won't let this become a habit. However you may be interested in a short documentary about a normal guy taking his first trip to a UK anime convention and trying out Cosplay.

This 15-minute version is available to view free online, and apparently a 40-minute version is forthcoming. I for one am glad to see some nice UK cosplay video coverage where I didn't have to edit it myself ^_^
