Description
This is an outfit that got built around a hat. Matt gave me the hat for my birthday, and I was going to alcon with a sunday where I didn't have a costume. The dress and skirt were already in my wardrobe and are made of raw silk. The black skirt was brought from Oxfam bridal and the dress from another charity shop I used to work in. The corset used to be a black satin underbust, but a outer seam had popped and was fraying so I figured that I would just cover it with another fabric because the coutil inner layer was still fine. I carefully handstiched tartan, lace and chains onto it. And my it does look lovely. The little jacket I made because I hate wearing strapless things (I get cold easy. So very easy.) It's raw silk with lace and the pattern was made by me. I made the chocker with the left over tartan and a cross that I had hanging about. The watch I bought. I'm wearing a pair of 7 inch leather heels under all this. I have the balance of a god I tell you. When I made this costume I had no idea that it could and would be considered steampunk by people. Because well, I dress like it normally, this is just one of my more extravagant outfits. Tab
